About Chiaro

It started with a stone I had never heard of.

My name is Dagrun, and I am the founder of Chiaro.

During five years in China — part of them on tropical Hainan — I discovered moissanite for the first time. I had never heard of the stone before, and I didn't understand why it was so little known back home in Norway. A gemstone with a brilliance and hardness that can handle everyday life — without the traditional diamond price.

The more I learned, the clearer it became: women deserve access to better materials and better craftsmanship, without having to compromise with a cheap imitation. Chiaro does not sell cubic zirconia. We don't believe in imitating — we believe in choosing a stone for what it actually is: lab-grown moissanite, with its own measurable qualities that make it more than a substitute.

Why so few designs?

We keep our catalogue deliberately small. Instead of hundreds of designs, we focus on a few pieces we truly stand behind — and are honest about exactly what they are made of. That was the start of Chiaro: a small, carefully curated collection of jewellery in 925 sterling silver and moissanite, designed to last and be worn again and again — not to fill a drawer.
